The EcoSmart™ Partnership

This innovative government-industry partnership was assembled to facilitate the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the production of Portland Cement for use in concrete construction. The continuing focus is on enabling the building industry to innovate and adopt new technologies that will reduce GHG emissions in a manner that is ecologically and economically smart.

The EcoSmart™ Partnershipcontinues striving to make EcoSmart concrete an industry standard through demonstration projects and applied research. GLOBE was the project manager responsible for the first phase of this launching partnership, working with Environment Canada, the Greater Vancouver Regional District, Industry Canada, cement and concrete industry representatives, and members of the engineering and architectural community.
